Overview of Parenting after Launching

Overview of Parenting after Launching. Overview of Parenting after Launching. Each stage of family and childhood development presents its own unique challenges that require families to find ways to adapt and cope. It is important for a counselor to be aware of some of the challenges families face and the internal and external resources that might be available. This week, you explored some of the challenges families naturally encounter, including the processes of aging, caring for parents, and experiences related to life in multigenerational households.

Tasks:
As family systems evolve, family members’ ages and genders have remained key variables for exploring and understanding human development. Using gender as your primary focus, conduct a library research to find at least two articles that provide information on gender and aging in our society.

. How do gender differences impact experiences of aging in our society?
. Are there any spiritual or religious implications associated with gender and aging?
. What new information can you share on gender and aging? (Be sure to cite your sources of information.)
. What are some of the ramifications of this new information on your ministry?

Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling

Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling. Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling. 4MAT REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS (This will be submitted through the SafeAssign plagiarism system through the college)
The 4MAT Review is a way of responding to readings, lectures, and life experiences that requires you, the learner, to interact with new ideas on several levels. You will write 1 review for the McMinn textbook (Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling ISBN 978-0-8423-5252-9). In preparing your 4MAT Reviews, use each of the 4 sections listed below with corresponding Level One headings in current APA format:

1.Provide a title page including only your name, the paper title (referring to the book title), and the institutional affiliation (Liberty University). Keep in mind that current APA standards recommend the title length not exceed 12 words. All pages must include a running head and page number, and all pages are double spaced.

2.Summary: After introducing the name of the book and author, summarize the book in approximately 2 pages. Be appropriately concise but also be adequately complete in your ideas. Prove that you comprehend the main ideas by writing a clear and succinct summary. The summary is not a commentary or listing of topics but rather a discussion of the core ideas (main ideas) in the entire book. If you miss the main ideas, you lack an understanding of the complete message of the book. The summary provides the foundation for the rest of your 4MAT paper. Cite the book in-text at least once per paragraph and include page numbers for direct quotations.

3.Concrete Responses: Be vulnerable. In approximately 1 page, write about a personal life episode that this book triggered in your memory. Relate your story in first person, describing action and quoting exact words you remember hearing or saying. In the teaching style of Jesus, this is your own parable, case study, or personal connection to the main ideas of the book. Your comments in this section need to be clearly tied to main points from the book, not tangential ideas. Connect your comments to the main points for the reader.

4.Reflection: This section is a short critique or evaluation of the author’s main ideas; include positives/negatives and strengths/weaknesses. You should consider new questions that arose for you in response to what you have read and explore concerns, implications, etc. Provide this critique in approximately 1 page (sometimes additional length may be needed to provide an adequate critique).

5.Action: What are you going to do about it? Develop action steps based on the core points of the book. This section must be a description of how the main ideas will affect your counseling. What professional changes will you implement and share with others? Be precise in summarizing your action steps and clearly connect your action steps to main points from the book. This section must be 1 page or less.

6.You are also required to create a references page; on this page, you must provide the complete reference citation for the McMinn textbook in compliance with current APA standards.
Create and submit these assignments in a Microsoft Word document; these assignments must be written at the graduate-level and must be in current APA format.
Note: Use quotations strategically and sparingly; in a paper this size, do not use longer (block) quotations.

Questions

Questions. Questions. The questions and the material are attached.
Be sure to read and follow all of the instructions, including a careful analysis of the poem by the Indian mystic peasant and poet Tukaram, illustrated to the right. He is considered a “Sant”–a holy man from the bhakti (love, devotion) tradition. you will briefly answer five questions that pertain to George Harrison’s song, “Within you, without you.” Second, you will read a bhakti devotional poem by Tukaram, an Indian mystic peasant, answer the questions and compare and contrast the two texts. For instance, assuming something does, what happens to the “you” in the Beatles song, and what happens to the “you” in Tukaram’s poem? What philosophical concept of the nature of reality (“oneness” or “twoness”?) might Harrison and Tukaram be advocating?

In responding, be sure to interact with some of our introductory terms such as dualism (spirit and matter), monism (also referred to as nondualism), pantheism, metaphysics, and a number of Hindu terms such as maya, Brahman (ultimate reality), atman, Vedanta. Also refer to a number of materials provided in this designated folder. Properly cite any quotes and references you incorporate to support your response.

The trinity as a social program

The trinity as a social program. The trinity as a social program. Hartford Seminary
Course: The Triune God
Basic Trends in the Christian Doctrine of God

Course’s Description: For many non-Christians, and sometimes Christians as well, one of the most puzzling and controversial teachings in Christian faith is the claim that God is triune in nature: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This course aims to explore the biblical, historical, and philosophical contexts that drove Christians to develop an understanding of God as Trinity. It first unpacks the biblical roots of the church’s encounter and experience of God as creating Father, redeeming Son, and sanctifying Spirit. It then traces the historical development of this churchly spiritual experience into an intellectual trinitarian theology by investigating some major Christian discourses and trends considered to be milestones on the long historical track of the doctrine of the Trinity in Christianity.

Course’s Objectives:
At the end of the course the students would:
1- acquire a systematic and historical analysis and understanding of the doctrine of the Trinity
2- would have a chance to link the doctrine of the Trinity to some contemporary issues that are pertinent to today’s world.
3- will learn how to discuss carefully and argue critically some primary theological texts on the Trinity and to reflect their implications for today

Term Paper
Students are expected to write 12-15 pages-long (5000-7000 words-long) papers (foot/endnotes, bibliography, outlines, are excluded). They must submit them to the instructor at the end of the teaching calendar of the semester. The students are required to pick up one of the subjects related to the trinity and write a paper on it in relation to Christian life and ministry

Worksheet

Worksheet. Worksheet. The worksheet questions to be completed after watching the film reviewing all the material.

Use this in conjunction with the transcript, which is a concrete way to optimize learning after viewing the 14-minute film.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_HnNUeweLc

Hinduism is not a “one-size-fits-all” tradition. This 14-minute video considers four paths to God or divinity. In the words of Swami Vivekananda, these are:

Karma-Yoga: The manner in which a person realizes his/her own divinity through works (action) and duty;

Bhakti-Yoga: The realization of divinity through devotion to, and love of, a personal God;

Raja-Yoga: The realization of divinity through the control of the mind

Jnana-Yoga: The realization of a person’s own divinity through knowledge.

According to Vivekananda, these paths all lead to the same center: God. Each person should be encouraged and be free to choose a path suited to one’s disposition, temperament, or inclination–that which appeals to one’s “divine instinct.”

Film Abstract: In this program a group of young Hindus define the Bhagavad Gita’s Four Paths to God and reflect on which path he or she feels the most affinity with—Bhakti (Devotion), Jnana (Knowledge), Rajah (Contemplation), or Karma (Action). With feedback from experts such as Jay Lakhani, director of the Vivekananda Centre in London, the teens examine the practices and philosophies of the paths, explaining that Hinduism accommodates many ways to worship. The teens also touch on the concepts of Brahman and atman, and their families’ use of devotional music, meditation, and ritual to connect with the Divine. (14 minutes)

UNIT ASSIGNMENT: UNIT 5 REFLECTION PAPER

UNIT ASSIGNMENT: UNIT 5 REFLECTION PAPER. UNIT ASSIGNMENT: UNIT 5 REFLECTION PAPER. 5.3 UNIT ASSIGNMENT: UNIT 5 REFLECTION PAPER
INTRODUCTION AND ALIGNMENT

See Introduction to Unit 5.
UNIT FIVE INTRODUCTION
The Unit 5 Handout introduces the student to a very important translation issue in Genesis 2:18.
In the King James Version, two separate Hebrew words are translated “help” and “meet.” The
verse then reads: “And the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will
make him a help meet for him” (Genesis 2:18, KJV). Since this wording has an “old English”
sound, the New King James Version translated the two words, “helper comparable to him.”
However, in modern English the word “helper” carries the idea of an assistant who is less
skilled.
What God Has Joined Together elaborates on the original meaning of God’s creation of the
woman as a “help” who would “meet” face to face with Adam in order for the two of them to live
together in a dynamic relationship of help for one another in the same manner that God is the
help for His people. Men Are Like Waffles; Women Are Like Spaghetti compares the mutual
need for help to the ideas of syrup on waffles and sauce on spaghetti. The Family emphasizes the
importance of making sure that reality is a vital part of “mate selection” as romance, and vice
versa.

UNIT FIVE RESOURCES
 Textbook: The Family: A Christian Perspective on the Contemporary Home

Upon completion of this assignment you should be able to:
 Complete a critical/reflective writing on, “Mate Selection: Romance and Reality,” using proper grammar, spelling, syntax, logic, and so forth.
RESOURCES
 Textbook: The Family: A Christian Perspective on the Contemporary Home
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
None
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Write a reflection paper on marriage as presented by Balswick in Chapter 3.
2. Reflection papers should be from 300 to 500 words and must show a level of critical analysis that reflects your understanding of the reading as well as your own personal response.
3. Compose the paper in a Word document.

Carefully following the instructions for this assignment, write a reflection/summary paper that demonstrates:

1. An understanding of the assigned reading.

2. A capacity for critical analysis.

3. An ability to apply the material in a practical manner.

Unlike a research paper, a reflection/summary does not require footnotes or references because it is a specifically assigned reading. Your own words are preferable to quotes in that the focus is upon your understanding and application of the information that has been presented.

Your paper should:

1. Be 300 to 500 words in length.

2. Be submitted in a Word document with one-inch margins and double-spaced.

3. Be written according to APA Writing Style Guidelines: See Writing Style Guides under Course Introduction.

It will be evaluated according to the following guide:

Intent – Does it demonstrate an understanding of the assignment?

Application – Must show a level of critical analysis that demonstrates the ability to apply the
material in a practical manner.

Creativity – Is it obviously original?

Academic Propriety – Are correct spelling, proper grammar and well-formed sentences apparent?
