Research Essay Instruction (Research type):

Although there are no set limits on the amount of independent research required, at least three different source should be used.

For your citations and bibliography, you can use any standard citation system (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Modern Language Association Style, Oxford Style). The most important thing is to provide the information a reader needs to find the source and the page references.
Please keep quotations to a minimum. Most important is to demonstrate that you understand material. However, quoting material does not do that. So, paraphrase source as much as possible; that expresses things in your own words. If essay contains more than 15% quoted material, it means that it is quoted too much and will not have adequately demonstrated understanding of material.

It is critical that you provide your assessment and your reasons for adopting that assessment. Your assessment might be that you want to explore more research or more discussion before choosing a position; or that none of the current views are compelling. That is okay but you must provide your reasons for this assessment.
