Film Think Piece

Choose a film from the Plaid Avenger’s list (check the “Plaid Cinema Selection” at the end of each regional chapter: i.e. Western Europe, North America, etc.) and write a one-page response or “ think-piece” that identifies 1) the main points of the story or documentary along with 2) an attempt to identify how these relate to people, places or ideas we’ve covered in this course. It’s very important that you both 1) summarize the film and 2) make connections to other concepts, ideas, places or people we’ve examined in this class.
You absolutely must write this think piece in your own words. Students in previous classes have, on occasion, simply copied a review, which is both missing critical parts of the assignment (connections to this class) and is grounds for plagiarism charges.
Note: You may watch a different film from those on the Paid Avenger’s list, but you must explain or justify your choice and get my permission in order to get full credit.
This should be a fun way to see a film you haven’t seen before, and try connecting it to the course.
If you’d like ideas about how to do this, post a question in the General Discussion and one of us (me, the TA, and other students) can try and give you some suggestions.
