Facilities Management. Facilities Management. Research an article concerning one topic on Healthcare Facilities Management, either discussed in the Assignment or another one that may apply. Remember, it has to pertain to the FM aspect of Healthcare, not the healthcare itself. Since the last assignment that told you to research a journal article from Kent Library turned out to be a train-wreck, I’m going to let you choose something from anywhere online. Note: Wikipedia, although it is one of my favorite sites, is not an “article”; choose a magazine’s website, or an organization’s website, or if you choose, you can use a journal. (The links on the last page of the Lesson might be good examples, but don’t everybody gang up on them and use the same topic.) Try to be creative and don’t just pick the first, obvious, topic. Look at the list in the Assignment for some starting points. If there are a lot of duplicates, without new information, there will probably be a reduction in points awarded.

“Add a new discussion topic” and tell us about your article:

Describe what Healthcare FM issue is being addressed (be as specific as possible),
Describe how that issue could be unique to Healthcare Facilities as opposed to other types of facilities, and
Describe how that fits into the function or mission of that type of facility (security, life-safety, etc.).
Properly cite your article including name, author, periodical or website (if a website, list the URL, too). I want to be able to access it.
For the Subject title use “FM504_lastname_10_brief topic title”, obviously substituting your last name (surname) for lastname and a one or two word topic, for example “FM504_McMeel_10_infection control” (but omit the quotation marks).

There is no requirement to reply to other students’ postings, but feel free to do so (be careful to keep your replies focused on the original posting and not start another discussion, or steal the thunder from subsequent postings).
