I have contributed to the community by taking part in the Dhading Project. I was the coordinator of the project and I led a team of students to improve the quality of education of children in low socioeconomic backgrounds in rural Nepal. The families of these children could hardly afford to give their kids one meal a day. We established a connection with a shop in a nearby town to provide some basic nutrition for the students. We gave each kid a medical check-up and medicines to cure their illness. We did teacher training, gave children access to better learning materials, taught them how to play sports and musical instruments and access to technology. We rebuilt their school that had been completely destroyed by the 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal, for which we raised all the fund ourselves through charity events such as bake sale and trivia night and getting other schools worldwide to donate money for the project. We even interacted with foreign students, visiting Nepal and our school, to donate money to rebuild the school. The school had no access to clean drinking water and no electricity so we are going install solar panels for renewable source of electricity and built a pipeline.
