Literature discussion 400 words. MLA FORMAT

I’m stuck on a English question and need an explanation.

After reading the essay, and considering the Rorschach sentiments in the background section above, explain how Montaigne’s ideas are similar to analyzing literature / staring down a blob and finding our own smaller and larger meaning within it. Provide at least two direct quotes from Montaigne’s essay which support your thesis (the major assertion noted). Explain to us what each chosen citation means in the text and HOW it proves your thesis. Think of your audience as someone who does not see what you see in these citations, so you are explaining to them what you see. 400 words are required here — citations from the essay do not count as an element of this criteria.
