Part 1:
I searched for “Clinical psychology case writing AND PTSD”
The article that I chose discusses the feasibility of brief intensive exposure therapy for PTSD patients that had childhood sexual abuse. For this study they chose to use for PTSD patients who suffered multiple sexual traumas in their childhood that included abuse, rape, and neglect. Each of these patients had participated in a trauma-focused treatment program that was held once a week and showed no improvement. This was one of the first intensive treatment programs created for PTSD patients. While there have been others created for anxiety disorders, there have been very few created for those with PTSD.
For their intensive exposure therapy, the patients had 5 working days with 6 hours of treatment a day. Each day they focused on one traumatic event from their childhood and did all treatment processes for that specific event. The treatment processes included psychoeducation, prolonged imaginal exposure, and having the patient draw their trauma along with a narrative. They also had a writing assignment each day.
The article provides an exact case study of all four patients, discussing the trauma they experienced in their childhood as well as their previous treatment history. It then went over how they reacted to each day of their intense therapy. Finally, it gave the results of the treatment including how the patient felt after the treatment was concluded. Overall, the treatment showed the most promise in decreasing re-experiences, along with none of the patients showing any worsening symptoms during the treatment or after. There were some downfalls, including some of the patients needing more time in the session to discuss the details of their trauma. But the researchers concluded that it is possible to use intense exposure treatment with PTSD patients. the researchers felt while these patients did not do well in the typical treatment settings, in this treatment they not only discussed it but they wrote about it and created drawings it gave them different outlets to overcome the difficulties they had in the regular treatment. (Hendriks, de Kleine, van Rees, Bult, & van Minnen, 2010)
Part 2:
For the first website, number 3 interested me most. This section discussed using “The triangle” method, which is explained as looking at one eye for about five seconds, then switching to the other eye for another five seconds, then looking at the mouth and continually rotating through the three points. I’ve never heard of this advice, and personally I feel like I would be so worried about where I was looking and what spot was next I wouldn’t necessarily pay attention to what the person was saying, at least until I got used to doing the exercise. I think it would be more of a distraction for me personally. It also mentions nodding or saying an occasional agreement word while the other is chalking which I definitely do already. (Aitchison, n.d.)
In the second article I really liked the chart on nonverbal eye signals. Some of them I already knew, but there were some I did not. A couple I knew for example is if someone looks up and right they are lying and if someone looks left they are remembering or trying to recall something. Examples that I did not know included that looking left and down means that person is talking to themselves or rationalizing and looking right to the side means that person is imagining sounds. While this is interesting and something that might be fun to observe, it should be mentioned that this won’t work on everybody. For example, my mother is Deaf and has been all her life. She lip reads extraordinarily well, and can also speak. But since she must read lips to understand someone who does not use ASL, her eyes never really move from looking directly at the person she is talking to. I think it would be an interesting study to see how common all of these eye movements are. (Businessballs, n.d.)

CLASSMATE 2
The article that I choose was Mood and Symptoms in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. The article addresses the difference between Asperger Syndrome and High Function Autism. These two disorders can overlap and are categorized as Autism Disorder. A person with High Function Autism can have the same IQ as a person without HFA where as a person with AS would fit the same criteria for autism with no langue delay. People with Asperger Syndrome have a different intelligence quotient compare to individuals who have HFA. The DSM-5 wanted a new classification for these disorders because there is still a clinical debate surrounding these disorders. Some cases show that children with disorders like AS and HFA are normally linked to psychiatric disorders. According to the article there have been a number of studies that suggest that IQ of autism symptoms and depression are linked together. A lot of studies choose age and the disorder to link the severity of the symptoms.
I think both these articles were great to read they were very informative. Some times when a person/person’s suffer from the following disorders Asperger syndrome, Autism or even depression the doctor may try to link it to a psychiatric disorder because they have mental disorders. When this happens it can cause a person to take unnecessary medication. I believe if more studies were done to show that these two disorders were individual disorders and should not be classified as one disorder then we can attempt to obtain the write medication and therapies to treat this disorders the correct way.

Health Behavior Change Project. Health Behavior Change Project.
INSTRUCTIONS
You are to compile a personal health profile. This will consist of the completion of several online measures that will estimate your overall health and risk for possible diseases. You will then write up your results in a 6 page paper using APA style and at least 2 reference sources. The paper should be written in APA format including cover page, margins, and references and be no larger than 12pt Calibri, Arial, or Times New Roman font. Line spacing should be 1.5. You do not need an abstract. You may use a table if you want, but it will not count in the total page limit. Please use headings but do not use the APA headings for writing a research paper (Introduction, Methods, Discussion, etc). Use appropriate headings that alert the reader to what is in that section (ex. Family History, Risk Factors, Behavior Change Plan).
Throughout the semester, you will be completing several health assessments as well as a family interview. You will compile the results of these assessments and report them in a paper along with a plan you will develop on how to decrease your risks or maintain or improve upon the health state you currently have.
The first page should report the results of all the health measures you completed and your family interview and your thoughts on the results (Homeworks 2-5). This includes things that may have surprised you and how you decided to integrate all of the information. You should also discuss your current lifestyle with regards to things you are doing right and things you could improve on. Remember, risks don’t just include eating, exercising, smoking, etc. They also include things like driving fast, drinking and driving, not wearing a seatbelt, not wearing sunscreen, etc.
The next 1-2 pages should detail your personal health plan on how you will decrease your health risks. This section should include at least two references that support the changes you propose to make to decrease your risk. Both references should not be for the same disease/risk factor. Also, you should list barriers you will encounter or anticipate you will encounter in complying with behavioral health recommendations.
If you are a smoker, here is a website that provides information about why people smoke and information and strategies to help you quit: www.smokefree.gov. This website may also be helpful when writing your paper. (You do not need to go to this website if you do not smoke).
The next step is to implement at least part of the personal health plan described in your paper. Choose a risk factor that you would like to work on decreasing. This might involve decreasing a risky behavior (reducing/quitting smoking, decreasing alcohol intake, driving slower, decreasing stress) or increasing a positive one (eating more vegetables/fruits, exercising regularly, improving adherence to a medication regimen). After selecting your behavior, decide how you will implement this change. You will develop a plan with guidance from your instructor. You must have this part of your plan approved before you start. Email and come talk to the instructor in person before you start your plan. Depending on the behavior you choose, you may need to self-monitor to determine what your baseline is. For example, if you choose increasing your fruit and vegetable intake, you will need to know how many servings of each you eat every day before you can set a goal. Once you have your baseline data, you can set a goal to change this behavior. You should use the SMART goal format. You will the implement your planned goal for at least 2 wks.
The last 2-3 pages of your paper will describe your plan including what risk factor you focused on, the behavior you decided to change, how you measured this behavior both before, during, and after implementing the plan, and how you went about changing the behavior. You will also discuss how implementation of the plan went including barriers that arose, how you dealt with them, and any modifications you made subsequently. Finally, you will discuss your experience through this process both from a health psychologist’s perspective and a patient’s perspective. What was it like to set a SMART goal, how did you cope with barriers and how did you revise the goal to adjust to those barriers.
The assignment should be uploaded as a file attachment under the Assignment section of Blackboard

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words: Power is the ability to influence, and it comes in many forms: Legitimate power comes from the pecking order. Legitimate power can be limited, because subordinates sometimes comply without really agreeing. Reward power comes from the ability to write a paycheck or give attention and affection. Expert power comes from having the answers. Coercive power comes from threats. Coercive power can invite undermining. Charismatic power comes from being likeable. Charismatic leaders cultivate power that is internalized, so their agenda as well as their enthusiasm can get a lot of momentum. Charismatic power is the most persuasive because it comes from an internal process. Dormant power is any of the above if unused. Dormant power can yield resentment. Identify and describe the type of power you use in your personal life and the type of power you have used at work. Is there another type of power that would be more effective in any of those situations? Why or why not? French, J. P., & Raven, B. (1960). The bases of social power. In D. Cartwright, & A. A Psychoanalysis of Jeffrey Dahmer. A Psychoanalysis of Jeffrey Dahmer.
INSTRUCTIONS
A psychoanalysis of Jeffrey Dahmer It is really important that you choose a focus i.e. a symptomatic aspect that is amenable to psychoanalytic understanding. Remember we are interested in your chosen’s hero’s psychodynamics; their interpersonal relationships (ie their object relations). These object relations arose early in your hero’s developmental history. Think carefully about what are the relationship struggles s/he has early in life and how these might have carried over into their adult life. In paying attention to your hero’s psychodynamics, do not just try to squash them into an existing theory e.g. oedipal (three person relationships). Rather try to understand what was h/her dilemma and then try to think about which psychoanalytic theory helps to understand your hero’s problems. Finally just to remind you – this is from module 11 – what makes an explanation psychoanalytic is that it give credence to the following: The relationship between conscious and unconscious meanings, feelings, representations, and motives is primary in understanding psychopathology. Sexual and aggressive impulses, feelings, and fantasies, together with dependency/attachment needs are central motivating forces in human beings. All psychological life involves conflict between competing motives, feelings, and representations of self and others, which causes anxiety or psychic distress. We protect ourselves from this anxiety/distress by means of unconscious defense strategies. All functional symptoms and pathological personality traits are meaningful expressions of psychic conflicts or deficits and our ways of managing them. Our personalities are largely shaped by the subjectively perceived emotional quality of early childhood interactions with primary caregivers and siblings.
