INSTRUCTIONS
This assessment deals with aspects of site management covered in the CME107 Site Management unit content bringing it all together into the development of a Site Plan for a proposed residential sub division project. It is based on a proposed Residential Sub Division comprising 42 No. lots for mixed use housing. The project site is an existing large vacant, rectangular shaped piece of land. On one side is the public highway & footpath; on the opposite side is the Canning River. On the other two sides are existing detached houses or future developments currently under construction to create other mixed-use housing, undertaken by others. The houses will be of traditional construction with concrete floors, brickwork walls, and colourbond clad, framed roofs. There will also be car parking, gardens, footpaths and a drainage basin adjacent to the river. While the site is large, space is limited. Access to the site is currently only available from the front, which is a large road of two lanes in each direction, although there is provision to create a new separate entrance/exit to the rear for secondary access. This new entry point can also be used for construction phase traffic. This information should be used to provide background and context for your assessment. In developing the activities to be reported, you should consider the type of construction processes that are to be conducted as part of the development. Note that you are required to consider sufficient activities to complete your assessment-you will need to consider all aspects of managing the site for such a project. This assessment will require you to use all resources and guidance provided as part of your study in this unit including modules, readings, practice question/tutorial tasks, and not least important, your own personal learning and research that you will need to undertake independently to pass this unit.
Assessment Tasks The assessment requires students to complete an individual plan for the site management of the project provided. Assumptions – where you lack any required information please make and document your assumptions to enable your plan to be competed. As a word count you should not expect to have more that approximately 2500 words for each part of your plans (a total of 5000 words maximum). Your Site Management Plan should include plans and diagrams that link with your written component. Please ensure that you use appropriate structure, grammar and referencing. The Site Management and Construction Management plans should be working documents that inform the reader about all aspects of the working site.
